  1. Have you heard of/considered using Audacity to record your voice audio instead of garage band? It’s a free program and I believe they have a Mac version. It may not have the microphone sound issue you are experiencing, and after recording your voice with Audacity you could always import the audio file into Garage Band for editing/mixing/cutting and whatever else you do before the final podcast is released.
    Good luck.

  2. Audacity doesn’t have any enhancements and is very plain jane with the blue snowball. Garageband has a lot of settings to design custom sounds, but the mic presets are all useless. I just need it jacked up. Thanks.

  3. Dear iMonk

I have been reading your blog for quite a while and I must say this is the first time I have every been dismayed by your comments and have to strongly disagree with you. Sir, without any doubt, a true Chicago style pizza is a deep dish pizza. Double dough pizza is a weak substitute, and borderline apostasy .

If you are ever in Chicago, I would suggest you try a Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza, one of the best examples of pizza excellence in the entire city.

I am truly struggling with this. I fear it may lead to The Great Pizza Schism of 2009. Please, return to pizza orthodoxy, and embrace the Truth, Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza.

    Your brother in culinary faith

  4. As to blogs we read, I read several that you have mentioned. I like Mockingbird a lot.

As to the first question from the young man, your students are very lucky. Way back when we were teens, all such questions to our preacher would have been met with, “Satan put that idea into your head.” That was his response to ALL questions from young people. I am not exaggerating.

  5. Dan Allison says

I’ve been in several of those “let’s take this city (or nation) for Jesus” churches, but thank God I finally found a “let’s love our neighbors for Jesus” church.

And thanks to you, Michael, I also read the Mockingbird blog…
