A Special Message From Michael For Any Church Seeking a Pastor

No. I’m not looking to change jobs. I have a friend I want to recommend.

If you are interested in more information about my friend, write me at and I will mail current resumes, links to recent sermons and his blog posts.

Please pray for my friend and his family. I’d love to say a lot more, but I hope this will be helpful.

  1. Your friend must be a prince. A recommendation along these lines is like lending a friend money!!…

  2. Jesus-shaped use of technology. Very cool.

  3. Praying that your message will result in results!

  4. I’ve Tweeted a link to this page, Michael, for any of my friends (my Twitter and Facebook are linked) who might be aware of a pastoral opening.

  5. I also have known this man for many many years.

He may be one of the most Godly men that I have ever met in my entire life.

He is kind, thoughtful, and uses Godly wisdom in all of his decisions.

He is not a “make hilarious jokes and say catchy phrases from the pulpit” kind of guy. He doesnt wear sharp suits and chooses to be more concerned with the substance of what he preaches rather than the style or manner in which the service is run. He is a thinker, he has a huge caring heart, and always chooses to show Christ to the ones who are persecuting him. He loves the church and he loves the churches people.

I pray that people do take this opportunity, if you need it in your church, to get in contact with this man. You will not regret it.

  6. Yes, Drew, I think you have known him for a while. From day one, if I’m correct in who we’re talking about.

He has been my pastor; a church that is more interested in being missional than Baptist will have one heck of a hire. However, that’s easier said than done, since inertia can keep people from getting out of their comfort zones.

If you want comfy-cozy, he’s not your guy, but if you want to be politely but firmly challenged to draw closer to God and His kingdom, he’s your guy.

  7. I will gladly pray for your (our) friend and his situation.

PS: I’ll take the bald, not so careful version of I-Monk any day. Thanking God today that you are who you are.

    Stay thirsty my friend …..hey, that’s a COMMERCIAL…ooops…

  8. He is indeed the real deal. I have served with him on staff in a large church setting and I have also had the privilege of calling him my pastor! I would do it again in a heart beat. He will be a great asset and any church that snags him will be fortunate to do so! Go with God friend and thanks to IMonk for helping him!

  9. Michael,

You’re a good friend to have.
